Asma Al Husna - Free iPhone App

This is my first iPhone App released for free.

This app contains a list of 99 Beautiful Names of Allah, their meanings and special benefits that can be obtained, Inshallah, by the reciter.

Each Name is a Unique Attribute of Allah. The list of Names, meanings and benefits were found in various sites throughout the web so I consider these to be public domain. (if it infringes any copyrights, please let me know)

The free beautiful image used for the app icon was created by Enzuru  and can be  found@ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Allah-eser-green.png

The tab bar icons were created by Joseph Wain @ glyphish.com

Download the app and check it out.

  4. Assalamoulaikum

I purchased this app with the to have the names meanings as per the second image shown before buying and and not impressed with the fact that it only shows the name. I have also seen that 3 others have posted the same problem and it seems you have not done anything about it. On the one side you have created a wonderfull app for which Allah will reward you, but on the other hand you are not rectifying the problem.
Please be kind enough to sort this out as I purchased the pro version thinking that it would apper on that.

Look forward to seeing this repaired and also hearing from you. JazakAllah

  6. Assalam Alaykum
The arabic names and the meaning is great but the instructions at the end of every name where you are told to repeat a name a number of times and to write on food etc. is not from the sunnah and it is an innovation in the religion, a Bidah. You should stop this because you are misleading many by it and it is totally and completely against Ahl-As Sunnah Wal-Jamaah.

    Proof from:
    Islamqa.com by Muhammed S Al-Munajid

" With regard to remembering Allaah by saying a single name such as “Allaah” repeatedly, this is not narrated in sharee’ah, and there is no proof for that from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) or from any of his companions. If it was something good they would have done it before us.

The Standing Committee was asked about someone who remembers Allaah by saying “Ya Lateef” repeatedly.

    They replied:

That is not permissible because it was not narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). Rather it was proven that he said: “Whoever innovates something in this matter of ours (i.e., Islam) that is not part of it, will have it rejected.” According to another version: “Whoever does any action that is not part of this matter of ours will have it rejected.”

    Fataawa al-Lajnah al-Daa’imah, 2/379

Please remove the instructions at the end of every name to stop the spread of innovations and misguidance.

    JazakAllah Khair.

  8. Assalamu Allaikum Warah Matullilahi Ta'Allah Wa Barakatuhu. Alhamdulillah ☝ very useful app. May Allah rewards you and your loved ones immensely in both worlds.

Please rectify a mistake under Al - Wahid and Al - Ahad. Their respective Arabic words don't match with the transliterations. You swapped Al-Wahid in place of Al - Ahad and vice versa. Wasalam !

  9. Dear App Developer,

My name is Wendi Bellar and I am a PhD candidate from the Department of Communication at the Texas A&M University. I am writing to invite you to participate in my research study about prayer app design. You're eligible to be in this study because you have designed a prayer app. I obtained your contact information from the iTunes app page with your contact web site link as well as from a religious app database on the Network for New Media, Religion and Digital Culture (digitalreligion.tamu.edu).
If you decide to participate in this study, you will be asked to participate in an online interview (using Skype, Facetime, or Google hangout) which will take about 45-75 minutes of your time. You will not be compensated for participation but you will have the opportunity to see research results which could impact your future app development work. The interview will be recorded (both video of the screen and audio) so that I can transcribe it and use the information to learn more about your specific development strategies.
Remember, this is completely voluntary. You can choose to be in the study or not. If you'd like to participate or have any questions about the study, please email or contact me at (806) 570-9714.
    Thank you very much.
    Sincerely,

    Wendi Bellar
